Things to Know
At Eden's Fruit Ranch we have a very thorough screening process.
We will not discuss reserving or delivering one of our puppies unless the following criteria are met:
1. You email us at [email protected] and fill out our brief questionnaire.
2. You pass our background check.
3. You make a deposit via Zelle per our instructions in email to officially reserve your puppy and remove them from available puppies listed for adoption.
Only then will we reach the point of conversation of meeting to deliver your puppy.
One of the reasons that we do a questionnaire and run background checks on prospective homes, is because these dogs, while incredible, are like a loaded gun. In the wrong hands they are very dangerous and a liability.
These are working dogs, not just born and raised in a traditional home setting, but heavily socialized in a diverse environment of animals on our animal rescue sanctuary that includes chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, other dogs, a wolf-dog, a turtle and more. When you adopt one of our puppies, you are not adopting a pet, you are adopting a new member of your family.

*Ear cropping has its limitations; this procedure is done between 9 and 15 weeks of age by an ethical surgeon, such as Quartz Mountain Animal Hospital. It should never be done past 15 weeks of age.

There are several great options to feed your Doberman. Our dogs love Rancher's Choice Active Dog formula, but the most important recommendation we can give is to avoid feeding your Doberman grain-free food and a grain-free diet. There is actually scientific evidence that links grain-free foods to increased chance of heart problems in large dogs, and Dobermans already have a predisposition to develop heart problems, so avoiding grain-free foods is a good preventative measure to take to avoid exacerbating a potential problem later.
Why We Recommend Avoiding Grain-Free Food At All Costs
Many dogs who developed dilated cardiomyopathy were eating grain-free diets containing high levels of legumes on their ingredient lists.The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a statement in 2019 that they are investigating the relationship between a dog’s diet and DCM. They reported that dogs fed primarily with grain-free dry kibble have higher rates of cardiac abnormality. This correlation, however, does not mean grain-free food is the cause of heart disease. There are many other contributing variables.Another thing to keep in mind, is similar to us humans, it is not good for your Doberman to be super active directly following a meal. For this reason in our shopping recommendation list above we include a variety of puzzle toys to encourage your Doberman to eat slower.

If you adopt one of our puppies and for any reason the dog becomes too much responsibility for you or for any reason you can no longer provide a loving home, we will take the dog back, no questions asked.
